BOOK COUNCIL
We thank the members of Book Council 2024 for designing the 26 Book Challenge this year and for all they will do to promote reading across the College. We have members from Year 7 - Year 12.
If you love to read and want to encourage that love in others, Book Council is for you.
At the end of 2024, you will be invited to submit an application to join Book Council 2025. This group of committed literary lovers have the responsibility of creating the 26 Book Challenge, as well undertaking a range of other roles. See below for details. If Book Council is something you would be interested in, please send Mrs Rieger ([email protected]) an email in mid Term 3. That way, you will be first to know when applications are due.

ROLE:
- Work in a team to identify possible categories, vote and compose the 26 Book Challenge for 2025. (Middle school and senior school)
- Promote the 26 Book Challenge and the Premier’s Reading Challenge within English classes.
- Liaise with the school resource centre staff to give a student voice to library decisions. eg. potential new books.
- Potentially assist library staff with Book Week activities.
- Be available to support members of the English staff as required, if literacy activities are undertaken.
- Assist in the coordination of the 26 Book Challenge Celebration event.
*This Book Council will be considered an extra-curricular involvement.
COMMITMENT:
- The Book Council will need to meet several times in Term 4 2024 to design the 2025 26 Book Challenge. This group will be coordinated by Mrs Rieger.
- At certain times of the year, council members will be invited to visit classes and so this would involve negotiating with your subject teacher to catch up work missed.
- Mrs Rieger will negotiate with individuals about how they can support Book Council activities as required.
